Approx 80 members of the public attended the meeting.
1. The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed
2. Village Issues – Chris Mennear is on leave but has agreed to attend future meetings. Current issues will be dealt with on his return. Further issues of poor grass verge maintenance on the pathway behind Heugh Hill, continued dog fouling and plea to make stile behind Wordsworth Cres accessible for disabled, to be added.
3. Update:
Signboards: 20 have been ordered – delivery expected in the next week
CPRE: Have featured Springwell Village in their newsletter. Journal also featured the story and the Sunderland Echo is sending a photographer on Thursday 25th June – location and time will be posted on facebook and website – everyone asked to attend
Eighton Banks residents: important to engage them as proposed development will have an impact on them and they will be good allies. SVRA has prepared letters explaining situation and will deliver them along with “Save the Greenbelt” poster. Volunteers to help needed.
On-Line Petition: 740 signatures and FOI request has been made to Council asking how many letters have been received. Plea to continue to send letters and for every person in each household to do so.
Thompsons: meeting 3rd July 2015. They have done noise monitoring survey and have promised to cut overhanging trees (around 7am to avoid affecting traffic). There was a proposal to invite a rep to attend residents meeting. Attendees voted against that and voted that the working group deal with Thompsons for now. Request was made to ask details of quarrying.
Hellens: No date for consultation yet. Proposal that NHS be contacted re affect on
access to services particularly emergency cover.
4. AOB plea to support 50 year anniversary of SVCV
