Not clear what formal permissions are needed – KW seeking advice from planning officers.

Installation of new electric washing plant – to allow for the reclamation of more smaller gauge aggregates – this will reduce landfill.  The plant is of significant size that cannot be wholly accommodated in the planned building.

Demolition of shed (need prior approval) and rebuilding in more robust material for better noise suppression.

Demolition of various other buildings on site.

Materials management on the site including some retention of stone            

from the reservoir site on the quarry floor. In future the noisiest processes will be moved to the northernmost part of the site – ie furthest away from the village.

Construction of 2-3m bund on the edge of the site near the    

railway line extending towards Eighton Banks, which will be grassed and possibly wild flower mix

Concrete surfacing of internal roads

Works to begin 1 October 2023 within permit times of 7am – 5pm

Visit included cctv sites – assurances given that there is constant monitoring and penalties for non-compliance of rules re wheel washing.
