- Emma Hardy has resigned from the Committee due to family commitments
- The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed
- Police: PC Vicki Noble reported that 13 incidents took place in the village between 2 Feb and 8 March. Most related to anti social behaviour involving youths. Letters are being sent to parents of the youths known to be involved and a dispersal notice has been issued for the weekends of 11/12/13 March and 18/19/20 March to cover Seldom Seen Park and Fairhaven, this can be altered. Residents were advised to beware of opportunist thieves and to ensure that doors, windows and cars are locked. Parking issues around the Hall were discussed and Cllr Trueman suggested the potential use of Bowes Railway car park as a ‘park & ride’ scheme to alleviate congestion.
- Proposed change of use from residential property to school: Proposal involves converting existing house and adding conservatory type extension to Brethren premises at 60 Peareth Hall Road to form a small school. A planning application has been submitted and can be viewed. No objections or comments were made from the floor.
- Thompsons: Meeting with SVRA working party on 12 Feb 2016 –
Additional road areas within the site have been covered with Tarmac. This means that vehicles will be cleaner before entering the wheel wash and therefore significantly cleaner when exiting site. Following agreement with Sunderland Council, work is now in progress to replace kerbs at the entrance to the site. Access will be maintained for prams, disabled users and pedestrians
New rubber screening and rubber screen mats are being installed on site to minimise noise
Landscaping works to clear overgrown areas of woodland and to restructure the ponds are ongoing
Repairs to shed roof are in progress but are weather dependent
On site security has been improved following a number of break-ins
Additional issues subsequently raised by residents: Thompsons vehicles reported as being seen in village- had been hired to remove soil mounds from Lismore Tce.
Storage of scrap metal on site – Council looking into and will update SVRA. Following a question from the floor it was reiterated that permission for recycling is in place until 2022.
- Village issues:
- IAMP consultation response sent to Council as agreed at last RA. Deadline3/2/16
- Flooding: NWL/Council study to resolve Beech Grove flooding expected to be complete by end of March, design work on solution to commence in April. It is hoped scheme will be implemented by the end of the year.
- Bowes Railway: have appointed part time worker to strengthen links with community. SVRA will be helping with gardening club for local schoolchildren aged 8-10 years old. It was agreed that Bowes be invited to attend a future SVRA meeting.
- Seldom Seen: Proposal for extra seating in childrens’ play area agreed. SVRA to cost, look at potential sources of funding and report back to residents.

- request for self-closing mechanism on gates at Seldom Seen to be repaired and appropriate signs to be displayed.
- complaint re horses in field beside Fairhaven which has a public right of way running through it
SVRA to look into both issues.
